Seven Steps to Christmas Payment Success. Give yourself the peace of mind of getting paid on time this Christmas. This year more than most, with the financial crisis and December being a shorter trading month, you will need to be on the ball. Think and start acting now to keep control of your debtors.
Do your due diligence. Secure credit checks and check the internet for information about the customer.
Consider having your Terms & Conditions professionally drafted, so that they can be relied upon (if necessary) in a dispute.
Invoice promptly and correctly. You can’t get paid if the customer doesn’t have a bill to pay.
Set time aside every day to check your bank account for payments, to avoid wasting time chasing paid accounts.
Have a set credit control process. Have a process in place so you can promptly send email reminders, phone calls etc.
Have a letter of claim. Ask for your money officially, in a way that could be referenced in Court.
Stop delivering services until you have received payment or a payment plan has been agreed.
Take these seven steps and take a proactive approach to getting paid on time this Christmas!
If you would like to discuss any of these steps or how we could support you with your payment processes, we would be happy to help.
